Travel first aid kit Tropics

A trip to the tropics requires comprehensive planning, especially when it comes to your own health and you don't want it to be marred by any problems during your vacation. Every travel first aid kit, no matter where you are going, should of course contain the medications that have been prescribed by the doctor for daily use or to be taken as needed. There are a number of other medicines and things that belong in a first aid kit for the tropics and can be bought cheaply here. Care should also be taken to ensure that heat-sensitive medicines such as suppositories are stored in a cool place.

Basic equipment for a travel first aid kit

South America, South Africa or Australia – wherever they go, they ensure adequate medical care so that there are no unpleasant surprises. Our tropical travel first aid kits contain all the necessary utensils for quick treatment. Don't save at the wrong end: for less than 30 euros you can get comprehensive equipment for your tropical vacation and don't have to run to the pharmacy for every little ailment.

The most important content, which is too often ignored, is the bandages, because small accidents can happen anywhere and at any time. It should consist of various plasters and leucoplast as well as elastic bandages and gauze bandages. This also includes sterile compresses and bandage packs, although tweezers and a triangular cloth can always be helpful. A thermometer and sterile disposable syringes with cannulas should also be included. This list also includes high-quality sun protection with UVA and UVB filters as well as effective mosquito protection.

Basic equipment against fever and gastrointestinal complaints

In order to have something against feverish illnesses, a tourist should have his family doctor prescribe an antibiotic that helps against bacterial infections before vacationing in the tropics. For cramp-like pain, the drug Buscopan is recommended, as is Dolormin or Paracetamol, which also has an antipyretic effect. Diarrhea or stomach illnesses, which can also be caused by unfamiliar foods in the tropics, can also be unpleasant. That's why your first-aid kit for the tropics should definitely contain tablets against diarrhea such as Imodium acute. To build the body faster, a drinkable electrolyte powder is important. However, the pharmacy should also contain a remedy for constipation and heartburn.

Protect against skin diseases and allergies

The first-aid kit should also include a disinfectant as well as an antibiotic ointment for infected wounds. An ointment for insect bites or allergies helps against itchy mosquito bites, although a cortisone cream is useful for someone who already suffers from severe itching or inflammation. There should also be wound or healing ointment and an ointment against fungal infections. Eye drops for conjunctivitis also need to be in a travel first aid kit. Cough suppressants and expectorants, sore throat tablets and nasal spray help against cold symptoms. Since traveling itself makes many people sick, medicine should also be available for it. The holidaymaker should also find out beforehand whether malaria prophylaxis is beneficial in the vacation area and whether there are any interactions.
